Chinese restaurant, women’s clothing retailers among new businesses at Pinecrest

ORANGE, Ohio -- Pinecrest, the mixed-use district off the Harvard Road exit of Interstate 271, has several new shops and restaurants as it celebrates its fifth anniversary.

Women’s clothing retailers Aerie and Offline by Aerie both opened Thursday (Aug. 24), according to a news release from Pinecrest.

Lao Sze Chuan, a Chicago-based, award-winning Chinese restaurant serving Sichuan cuisine, held a soft opening Aug. 18. It plans a grand opening in September, the release stated.

The Last Page, another restaurant, is now open for lunch.

In addition, Heartwood Coffee and Kawai Piano Gallery recently opened at the shopping center.

Pinecrest, which opened in 2018, held a fifth anniversary celebration Saturday (Aug. 26), featuring family-friendly events and activities.

Aerie is a retail store that specializes in women’s clothing, such as high-waisted leggings, activewear, swimsuits, bras, bralettes, women’s underwear and more, according to its website.

It’s open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays.

Offline by Aerie, an extension of the Aerie lifestyle brand, offers a complete collection of activewear and accessories built for real movement and real comfort, the Pinecrest website states. The Offline collection features an assortment of leggings, bike shorts, tops, sports bras, fleece, bottoms and accessories.

Offline is also open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays.

Lao Sze Chuan has been recognized as the best Chinese restaurant in Chicago, according to its website.

The Pinecrest location, its first in Ohio, is owned and operated by Sheng Long Yu.

Founded by Chef Tony Hu in 1998 in Chicago’s Chinatown, Lao Sze Chuan has become one of the most beloved Chinese restaurants nationwide, the website states. It provides traditional Sichuan cuisine with high-quality ingredients.

Lau Sze Chuan is open from 3:30 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays.

The Last Page is a modern American restaurant serving classic dishes executed creatively with global influence, according to Pinecrest’s website. It offers handcrafted cocktails presented in a unique way, as well as classic cocktails, a curated wine list to pair with the cuisine and a specialized beer program.

The Last Page is open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.

Heartwood Coffee, which also has retail outlets in Chagrin Falls and Hudson, is locally owned and operated by the husband-and-wife team of Jim and Jacinda Sanders. It is known for thoughtfully sourced and freshly roasted specialty coffee, creative drinks and delicious food.

Heartwood Coffee is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Serving Northeast Ohio with quality acoustic and digital pianos, Kawai Piano Gallery is the area’s premier Kawai piano dealer, restoration facility and wholesale distribution location, according to Pinecrest’s website.

It is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and by appointment Sundays.
